Nature’s Curator NZ Ltd is closing down despite substantial and continued uptake of the product by gardeners, landscape designers, retailers and nurseries throughout New Zealand.

The distribution company increased bottle sales by over 400% between Oct 2008 – Oct 2009 and are disappointed that inventor Nathan Balasingham, has chosen not to renew the contract.

Nature’s Curator is currently stocked by over 75 retailers around the country, has the endorsement of key gardening opinion leaders such as Rachel Vogan, Mary Robertson & Dennis Greville and is being used by Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington Botanic Garden staff.

Nature’s Curator is a new horticultural science that activates plants immune systems, by application ofnatural plant extracts that mimic a change in the environment, effectively switching on the plants own growth and health systems to preform better. It is a domestic version of Agrizest, which has shown success in agriculture despite negative reception from the scientific community.

“Our vision has been to encourage all gardeners to adopt a way of gardening with the environment rather than constantly applying artificial products to achieve plant health and productivity” says Director Graeme Clemett “the product was really starting to take off in New Zealand and we were preparing overseas markets as well so it is incredibly disappointing that Nathan does not see the value in working with us.”

However, Lauren Edwards, Director of Sales & Marketing for Nature’s Curator NZ Ltd is hopeful that they will remain involved in the gardening industry; “Although we are no longer able to support this product, we have been so impressed by the passion of gardeners and everyone in the garden industry that we look forward to being associated with them again in the future."
